Bad Firefox! BAD! I've changed this from a thumbs up to a thumbs down because they make a huge thing out of it but can't even get the organising right. Without telling anyone they decided the start time for the download day is 10am PST!
That's all and fine except that actually means its the 18th for me. Don't they understand the concept of timezones?
I think most people pretty much assumed midnight was the moment judging by all the pissed off people on their forums (mostly europeans, asians, australians and americans who woke up at midnight). I think people naturally assumed "17th" they meant would be from midnight, GMT or some other "middle ground" tiemzone for the world, not one of the LAST timezones on the planet (not to mention not at midnight)! I mean come on, they had the whole world map up and pledges up too... obviously that was just for show to "be cool" because they surely couldn't have been serious about the participation of people from countries other than the USA.
Ok ok, you might be all like, "calm, THE FUCK, down". Sure. Fine. But the fact is they could have fricken posted an exact date, time and timezone on their website. They didn't. They said the 17th, that was all. In actual fact, half the planet will be on the 18th when the download time starts.
Firefox, you loose. I'm not downloading on your download day.
